The lowest possible poker hand is a straight or a flush in any suit. If more than one player has a pair, the highest pair wins.
During each deal, a player has the option to offer the shuffled pack to his opponent for cutting. If the player declines, the next player may cut. Generally, the cut passes clockwise around the table. In some games, the dealer performs this task or offers the pack to the player immediately to his right. This is known as the button position. Depending on the rules of the specific poker variant being played, the first player to act after the cut has the privilege or obligation of opening the action in a betting round.
